9/22 vs. South Carolina St. | Texas A&M easily handled this opponent 70-14 as Manziel completed 15 of 20 passes for 174 yards and 3 TDs. Manziel ran 8 times for 78 yards and 2 scores. |
9/29 vs. Arkansas | On a dominating day that saw the Aggies destroy the Razorbacks, Manziel connected on 29 of 38 throws for 453 yards and 3 TDs. The Aggies QB also crossed the goal line once while gaining 104 yards on 14 carries. |
10/6 vs. Ole Miss | On a night when all seemed lost, Manziel engineered a last-minute comeback against the Rebels in Oxford. After overcoming early turnovers, the Aggies QB wound up completing 17 of 26 passes for 191 yards, 1 TD and 2 picks. Manziel also rushed for 129 yards and 1 score on 20 carries. |
1013 @ Louisiana Tech | In a 59-57 shootout win over the Bulldogs, Manziel completed 24 of 40 passes for 395 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. The freshman signal caller also ran for a season-high 189 yards and 3 scores against No. 23 ranked Tech. Manziel’s 576 yards of total offense broke Texas A&M and SEC single game records. |
10/20 vs. LSU | With the No. 6 ranked Tigers in College Station, Manziel completed 29-56 passes for 276 yards, 0 TDs and 3 INT’s. While defeating the Aggies 24-19, the stout LSU defense limited the Aggies dual-threat QB to a mere 27 yards on 17 carries. |
10/27 @ Auburn | Texas A&M got back in the win column in dominating fashion with a 63-21 win over the Tigers. Manziel completed 16 of 23 throws for 260 yards and 2 TDs. The Kerrville, Texas product also rushed 9 times for 90 yards while making 3 trips to the end zone. With the Aggies easily outshining Auburn, Manziel played into the 3Q before subbing out. In the 8 possessions he led, the Aggies offense scored 7 TDs. |
11/3 @ Mississippi State | In a monster performance against the No. 15 ranked Bulldogs, the emerging Heisman candidate connected on 30 of 36 passes for 311 yards and rushed for 2 scores and 129 yards on 21 carries. With much more football left to play in 2012, Johnny “Football” earned the most games of 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a single season since 2000. |
11/10 @ Alabama | While Manziel may have entered this game against top-ranked Alabama as a Heiman pretender in the eyes of some pundits, his incredible national TV performance against Bama vaulted him to serious Heisman contender status. During the Aggies 29-24 upset win over the defending national champions, Manziel completed 24 of 31 passes for 253 yards and 2 TDs. He also added 92 yards on 18 carries. |
11/17 vs. Sam Houston St. | With the Aggies easily rolling over the Bearkats 47-28, Manziel completed 14 of 20 passes for 267 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. The Texas A&M QB also ran 16 times for 100 yards and 2 scores. The only negative on the day was Manziel’s attempting a PAT, only to have it sale wide right. In the contest, Johnny “Football” broke the NCAA freshmen QB rushing record of 1,029 yards that had been held by Missouri’s Brad Smith since 2002. He also became the Aggies leader in single season total offense with 4,161 yards. The dual-threat QB also became just the 5th player in FBS history with 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yard rushing in a season. |
11/24 vs. Missouri | In Texas A&M’s regular season finale, Manziel led the No. 9 ranked Aggies to a 59-29 win over Missouri while connecting on 32 off 44 passes for 372 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. The Aggies signal caller also ran 12 times for 67 yards and 2 TDs. Manziel led Texas A&M to touchdowns on their first six drives to take a 42-7 halftime lead. The Aggies QB was knocked out of action briefly in the 2Q, but returned to action sporting a became the SEC’s single-season leader in that category. |
