College Baseball World Series Facts
The College World Series takes place in June of each year as the top eight NCAA Division I Baseball teams converge on Omaha, Nebraska to see who will wear the national championship college baseball jerseys.
Since 1950, the tournament has been held at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to that, tournaments were held at Hyames Field in Kalamazoo, Michigan (1947-48) and Wichita, Kansas (1949).
The format of the College World Series has changed in recent years when the tournament was divided into two four-team double-elimination brackets, with the survivors of each bracket playing in a single championship game.
Before participating in the College World Series, teams must compete in a 64 team field that places the teams in four-team first round regions. The winners of those 16 separate NCAA regions, then compete in NCAA Baseball Super Regionals that feature two first round winners in a best two of three format.
The eight winners of the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals advance to the College Baseball World Series.

UCLA: The Bruins qualified for their 3rd CWS and their first since 1997. UCLA is still seeking its first national championship.
Florida: The Gators are in their 6th CWS and made it to Omaha for the first time since 2005. Florida has not won an NCAA
baseball national championship.
Florida State: Although the Seminoles have now made a 20th appearance in the College World Series, FSU has yet to give
their fans the opportunity to wear Florida State national championship gear.
South Carolina: The Gamecocks 2010 CWS appearance marks their 9th trip to Omaha and their first since 2004. The Cocks
have yet to wear CWS Championship T-shirts.
Clemson: The Tigers qualified for their 10th CWS in 2010 and the programs first since 2006. Clemson is still shoot for their
first CWS title.
TCU: The Horned Frogs are playing in their first College World Series.
Oklahoma: The Sooners have made their 10th trip to Omaha and are in the CWS for the first time since 1995. Sooners fans
have donned NCAA Baseball national championship gear two previous times. Oklahoma's last title was in 1994.
Arizona State: The Sun Devils lead this year's 2010 CWS pack with 22 CWS appearances and 5 national championships.
The last time the Arizona State earned national champions honors was in 1981.
